Before the introduction of freezers and refrigeration this little dish was a common way to enjoy a creamy dessert.
I remember my grandmother serving it as a weekend dessert in the autumn when the jam had been made.
We opened a jar of blueberry jam the other week, to eat with our waffles, for waffle day, and as I don’t add any preservatives to my jam it doesn’t last very long after the jar has been unsealed. I decided to finish it off by making angel food for our dessert today.
Angel food
Ingredients
- 100 ml cream
- 100 ml jam
- 100 ml biscuits crushed
Instructions
- Beat the cream to hard foam.
- Fold in jam and crushed biscuits.
- Serve.
